Unfinished Business
12 songs 12 steps of Recovery
UNFINISHED: not brought to an end or to the desired final state; being in a rough state : unpolished
This Album Represents the 12 steps journey of Recovery. Its part of my Bucket List, selfishly its for me something I feel I must do while I’m here on Earth. The Name came to me in an inspiration, at first I thought it was because this is part of my Life’s Unfinished business, and that I would never finish it, or so it seemed. I have always dreamed to be a part of music and be in Music from the time I was 12, its all I ever wanted. Life had its twists and turns, I found 12 step recovery at 26 after 10 years of Alcoholic Torture, and I have not looked back. All of the Sadler’s (My Fathers Side) have been affected by Alcoholism, I made it out alive. On August 18, 2024 I will celebrate 22 years sober if I do not drink and stay alive, If you are reading this both of those things may have happened. What I know now is that the 12 steps themselves are always unfinished because there is no finish line, they never end. So like the 12 steps I too remain yet unfinished as God is still fashioning me, and this Album I give to you in the spirit of the 12 steps Unfinished in principle, yet perfect as it is. It is a product of the ongoing process of my Recovery. This is my Heart & Soul a gift I am here to share. My Music, and Voice are my most precious gifts I have because it comes from my soul and life experience.
I hope that each song will embody a principle of each step, and that through listening will give you strength and hope as I share my experience. That you will have an experience of recovery for yourself and others who may need it. We are all recovering spiritually in this life, trying to find our way. I am grateful to trudge this road with you however long we may be together. I love you fellow traveler, I am here for you. May you be reminded that Miracles are Real, That Angels Exists, that A loving Higher Power is guiding you and carrying you when you cannot go on.
I dedicate this Album to my Father Sherman J Sadler who was taken to early at only 61, and to my Mother who loved him and went through hell with him-she saved herself and my two brothers from the grip of his Alcoholism. But yet three of our unborn siblings did not make it. To our “Little Family” I hope to see you all again one day, In Heaven-I know we will meet again-until then I will keep singing.
Sincerely, Paula Josephine Sadler
